Installation

Requirements

• macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later
• Apple Silicon or Intel Mac

Install

Direct download (recommended)

1. Download the latest DMG from focusmo.app.
2. Open the DMG and drag Focusmo into your Applications folder.
3. Launch it. The app is notarized by Apple — no security warnings, no App Store account needed.

Homebrew

brew install --cask focusmo

Updates

FocusMo updates itself silently in the background (powered by Sparkle):

• Updates download automatically and install on the next quit or relaunch — no dialogs interrupting your work.
• The menu bar icon shows a badge dot while an update is downloading (orange) and when it's ready to install (green).
• The menu bar context menu has an update section with an Install & Relaunch action.
• A macOS notification tells you when a new version is ready (once per version).
• Installing is disabled during an active focus session — an update will never interrupt your focus.

You can also check manually: Settings → About → Check for Updates.

Uninstall

Quit FocusMo and move it from Applications to the Trash. To remove all data as well, delete:

~/Library/Application Support/focusmode
~/Library/Containers/com.elesin.focusmode
~/Library/Preferences/com.elesin.focusmode.plist
