Menu Bar
The FocusMo status-bar icon — planning popover, context menu, and update status.
FocusMo lives in your menu bar as a small target icon (it adapts to light/dark mode).
Clicks
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Left-click (Productivity Mode) | Opens the planning popover — timeline + task list |
| Left-click / drag (Zen Mode) | Drag on the icon to set a session duration with the gesture control |
| Right-click or Ctrl+click | Opens the context menu |
The context menu
- Quick Access — opens the command palette
- Show Main Window (⇧⌘M)
- Daily Goal Dashboard, Activity Tracking — jump to those sections
- Show/Hide Floating Button
- Update section (see below)
- Preferences (⌘,) and Quit (⌘Q)
Free users also see trial/license entries (Start Free Trial, Purchase License, Activate License). In Zen Mode the menu is minimal, with "Switch to Productivity Mode" on top.
Update status
FocusMo's silent auto-updater surfaces its state right in the menu:
- A live status line: Checking for Updates… → Update Available → Downloading → Update Ready.
- Install vX and Relaunch when ready — during an active session it's disabled and reads "Install after session" so an update never interrupts your focus.
- A badge dot on the menu bar icon: orange while downloading, green when ready to install.
- After updating, the menu briefly shows "Updated to vX.Y" to confirm.
- Check for Updates is always available.
Menu bar extras
- With calendar integration, the status bar can show your next event with a live countdown.
- The Menu Bar countdown style puts your session timer itself into the menu bar.
