Calendar · Focus · Insights
One app for your workday, native to your Mac. Your tasks from Things, Reminders or Todoist, a timer that runs them in blocks, and a timeline that shows where the hours actually went.
macOS 14 or later · Free to use · Pro from $4.99 a month
I've only been using Focusmo for about a week, but it's allowed me to organize tasks and manage my time more effectively while also keeping health and mental breaks in mind. The timer and break reminders have been extremely effective.
How It Works
Calendar, Focus and Insights: the three sections of the app, in the order a day uses them.
Drag tasks into the day next to your meetings, in the Calendar or in the planner one click away in the menu bar. Blocks you plan are the blocks you start. In the Calendar, ⌘Z undoes a drop.
"One thing that gets me to use an app more is how frictionless the experience is"
The 9th · Web Developer
The Up next card holds your next task, its length and the timer mode. Start, and the ring fills as you go. Blocks are Pomodoro by default, with real breaks in between, and after each break the app shows what comes next: the next block, or done for today. Done finishes the task.
"First time I've been able to assign myself a task and actually stick to it"
Nick Wolf · Australia
Insights is one screen: today's numbers on top, then the day as one lane, with the apps you used beside your sessions. In the evening, Your day shows your focus against your goal and the day as one strip. Every Monday, a recap of the week.
"A reference to look back at how I'm spending my time"
Courtney Vickery · CEO, Declet Designs
Works beside your task manager
Things, Apple Reminders, Todoist, TickTick and Microsoft To Do connect in one click during setup; Google Tasks and Obsidian in Settings. Completing a task in Focusmo completes it there. Every integration is free, on every plan.

Focus
Most days don't go wrong in the plan. They go wrong between the plan and the work. A meeting runs over, a tab opens, and by evening the hours are gone. Focusmo is built for that gap.
The calendar holds the plan. Focus runs it one block at a time. Insights shows what actually happened, every evening and every Monday.

I've only been using it for a couple of days, but it's just handy to have an accountability buddy to remind me: just do one thing, finish this one thing, do what you said you were going to do
Focusmo is my go-to tool for staying focused ;). When I need to dive into deep work like research, brainstorming, or creative tasks, I start by making a simple commitment to myself: 'I'll dedicate an hour to this.
